We hope you join us in building new strategies for economic, human and ecological well being for Oregon and Washington's rural and urban communities.
On August 20, 2010 Urban Partnership Bank purchased all of the loans and most of the other assets of ShoreBank’s Midwest bank (www.sbk.com) from the FDIC out of receivership. Urban Partnership Bank, an FDIC-insured, Illinois-chartered bank, will continue ShoreBank’s operations. The Pacific Northwest subsidiary, ShoreBank Pacific, was not included in the closure and is implementing a plan to separate itself from ShoreBank Corporation that would result in increased local and regional ownership. To avoid confusion we have registered to do business as (dba) Enterprise Cascadia. Enterprise Cascadia is an autonomous non-profit corporation and is not impacted by these developments. This FAQ provides additional information. We encourage you to share it with others who may be confused by the name we have historically shared with the many other ShoreBank entities. There is no impact on the assets, loans or operations of Enterprise Cascadia. There are no other changes to the contact information for Enterprise Cascadia and its employees. There is no interruption of business. Please feel free to contact President/CEO John Berdes at 503-791-5197 (jberdes@sbpac.com) if you have concerns or questions.

To support 68 years of plywood manufacturing in Port Angeles, Peninsula Plywood Group, LLC reopened the plant to link the tradition of quality plywood with integrity and a forward looking approach. The plant first opened in 1941 as Peninsula Plywood. Over the next 66 years, the plant operated under three different owners until is closed in 2007. Closing the mill was one of the most significant economic low points in the areas history; the loss of 200 jobs affected the housing market, local spending, schools, and local and state tax revenue. When Peninsula Plywood Group, LLC recently reopened the mill, it employed 146 mill workers on two full shifts and 21 administrative people. In 2011 the number will increase by another 30 mill workers as the plant moves to three shifts.
